The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) detained a passenger found with gold hidden in his luggage.
CISF identified him as Sandip Uttam Pawar walks through DFMD for security check.
The officials informed that during checking, the checking officer noticed alarm was coming on DFMD and further in HHMD beep sound was regularly coming. When the pax could not explain the reason of alarm, he was taken for intensive checking wherein, HHMD was showing presence of metal at his back.
The officials added that when the said the SI questioned him about the presence of metal, the said pax admitted that he concealed gold in his rectum. He was supposed to travel from Agartala to Lucknow via Kolkata by Indigo flight No.6E-6172 and 6E-6139 respectively.
The customs official and a doctor from ILS hospital arrived at airport and seven gold biscuits were recovered from the said pax. The weight of the six gold biscuits and one cut piece is 740gms and worth Rs 88 lakhs. |
