ഹൈഫ ∙ ഒന്നാം ലോകയുദ്ധകാലത്ത്, 1918ൽ ഒട്ടോമൻ ഭരണത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഹൈഫ നഗരം മോചിപ്പിച്ച ഇന്ത്യൻ പട്ടാളത്തിന് ഇസ്രയേലിൽ ശ്രദ്ധാഞ്ജലി. നേരത്തേ കരുതിയിരുന്നതുപോലെ ബ്രിട്ടിഷ് പട്ടാളമല്ല, അവർക്കു കീഴിലെ ഇന്ത്യൻ കുതിരപ്പട്ടാളമാണ് ഹൈഫ മോചിപ്പിച്ചതെന്നും ഇക്കാര്യം ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി ഹൈഫയിലെ സ്കൂൾ പാഠപുസ്തകങ്ങൾ പരിഷ്കരിച്ചുവരികയാണെന്നും മേയർ യോന യഹാവ് പറഞ്ഞു. ഹൈഫയിലെ ഇന്ത്യൻ സൈനികരുടെ സെമിത്തേരിയിൽ നടന്ന അനുസ്മരണത്തിൽ പ്രസംഗിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.
