Odisha is gearing up for an exciting year of sports in 2025 with several major events scheduled across the state. The government has announced plans to host international and national level competitions as part of its continued commitment to sports development.
The highlight of 2025 will be the Odisha Hockey World Cup, which is expected to attract teams from over 16 countries. This event will be held at the iconic Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, which has previously hosted successful international hockey tournaments. 
Other significant events include the Odisha Marathon 2025, which will feature categories for professional athletes, amateur runners, and wheelchair participants. The marathon route will showcase Odisha\“s beautiful coastline and cultural landmarks.
The state will also host the National Kabaddi Championship, bringing together top kabaddi teams from across India. Additionally, several youth sports festivals are planned to encourage participation from school and college students.
