In a landmark moment for Maharashtra’s infrastructure growth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and dedicated a series of major development projects on Wednesday, marking a historic step forward for the state’s transport, digital and employment sectors.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the developments on social media, calling it “a proud and historic day for Maharashtra.” The key highlights of the event included the inauguration of the Navi Mumbai International Airport, a crucial gateway for the Maha-Mumbai region, and the dedication of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 Phase 2B, connecting Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade.
The Prime Minister also launched the Mumbai One App, a unified platform aimed at enhancing commuter convenience with the tagline “One App – Limitless Journeys.” Additionally, he rolled out the Short-Term Employability Programme (STEP) for Government ITIs and Government Technical Secondary Schools, designed to strengthen skill development and job readiness among youth.
The ceremony was attended by a host of dignitaries including Governor Acharya Devvrat, Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and Union Minister of State Murlidhar Mohol.
The inauguration of the Navi Mumbai International Airport is expected to significantly ease passenger load from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, while the Metro Line 3 expansion will bolster urban connectivity across Mumbai’s key business districts. The initiatives underline Maharashtra’s commitment to sustainable development, modern infrastructure, and inclusive growth. |
