The most prominent is the Formula LGB series, which uses indigenous LGB Formula cars manufactured by the renowned Indian automotive company. These single-seater racing vehicles feature 1.3-liter engines and provide an affordable entry point for aspiring Indian racers.
Another significant category is the JK Tyre Formula series, which has become the primary training ground for young Indian racing drivers. The series features Formula 1600 cars that are specifically designed for Indian racing circuits and conditions. Many successful Indian drivers, including Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandhok, began their careers in this domestic formula racing platform.
The MRF Challenge represents India\“s international-level formula racing contribution, featuring Formula 2000 cars that compete across multiple countries. Organized by the Madras Motor Sports Club, this series has gained recognition for producing world-class racing talent and has helped put Indian motorsport on the global map. |
