Kabaddi is a traditional Indian sport that originated in ancient times. It is a team game played between two teams, each consisting of seven players. The main objective is for a raider to enter the opponent\“s half, tag as many defenders as possible, and return to their own half without being tackled, all while holding their breath and chanting \“kabaddi\“. The duration of a kabaddi match varies depending on the format. In standard professional matches, such as those in the Pro Kabaddi League, each half lasts 20 minutes, with a 5-minute break in between, making the total playing time 40 minutes. However, in local or informal games, the duration might be shorter, often based on mutual agreement or specific tournament rules. Kabaddi has gained international recognition and is now played in various countries, promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and cultural heritage. |
