Days ahead of the first phase of the Bihar assembly elections, scheduled to be held on Thursday, an opinion poll predicted the NDA having an edge with a projected share of 120 to 140 seats in the 243-member house.
According to the JVC Poll on Times Now, the opposition alliance, Mahagathbandhan, may secure about 93 to 112 seats.
Within the NDA alliance, the BJP is expected to win 70 to 81 seats, followed by the JD(U) 42 to 48.
In the opposition tent, according to the poll, the Congress may bag only nine to 17 seats while the RJD may get 69 to 78 seats.









Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party is expected to open the account in the state with just one seat, while other players like the BSP and the AIMIM may secure eight to 10 seats.
According to the poll, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav is the most popular chief ministerial face in the state with 33 per cent support, more than the current Chief Minister Nitish Kumar (29 per cent).
The opposition INDIA bloc, which has the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Congress and Left parties as the main constituents, has declared Yadav as its chief ministerial candidate.
Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor and Lok Janshakti Party Chirag Paswan share 10 per cent support each as per the poll, followed by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary at none per cent.
Polling in Bihar is scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with the counting of votes to be taken up on November 14.
