The boat race in Kerala is famously known as the Nehru Trophy Boat Race, which is one of the most popular and prestigious water sporting events in India. This traditional snake boat race takes place annually on the Punnamada Lake in Alappuzha district, attracting thousands of spectators and participants from across the globe.  
 
The main attraction of this event is the competition of long, sleek boats called Chundan Vallams, which can accommodate up to 100 rowers. These boats are meticulously crafted by local artisans using traditional techniques passed down through generations.
