Three persons were arrested in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in connection with the murder of an aide to West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. A Kolkata court has sent them to 13 days in police custody.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed the state police chief to investigate a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act case filed against Bandi Bhagirath, the son of Union minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar. Reddy also questioned the delay in action, according to the state public relations department.
The parents of a girl, reported to be a 17-year-old, have alleged that Bhagirath befriended their daughter on the pretext of marriage and sexually assaulted her at a farmhouse in Moinabad on December 31. A complaint against Bhagirath was registered on Friday.
