Netanyahu Says Iran War Not Over Until Enriched Uranium Is Removed

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said the conflict involving the US, Israel and Iran is “not over,” stressing that Tehran still possesses nuclear material that must be removed.
In an interview with CBS’ 60 Minutes, Netanyahu said there was still “work to be done” regarding Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium. “You go in, and you take it out,” he said while referring to the nuclear material remaining inside Iran.
The Israeli leader, however, did not specify whether Israeli or American special forces would be involved in any future operation aimed at securing the material. He claimed US President Donald Trump had indicated interest in taking further action inside Iran.
Netanyahu said the preferred outcome would be a negotiated agreement with Iran over its nuclear programme, though he maintained that removing the material remained a key objective.
His remarks come as Iran said on Sunday that it had submitted a response to Washington’s latest proposal aimed at ending the 10-week-long conflict in West Asia. US officials, including Trump, had earlier said they were awaiting Tehran’s response before deciding on the next course of action.
Netanyahu’s latest comments mirror statements he made last month following the April 8 ceasefire between Israel and Iran, when he asserted that the military campaign was “not yet over” and called for the removal of Iran’s enriched uranium with or without a deal.
