The 2010 Commonwealth Games were held in Delhi, India from October 3 to 14, 2010. This was the first time India hosted the Commonwealth Games and only the second time the event was held in Asia. 
Cricket World Cup 2011 was co-hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. India won the tournament by defeating Sri Lanka in the final held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
