The Border Security Force (BSF) keeping up with the love for their K-9s have set up a veterinary clinic at RK Puram.
Named as ‘K-9 clinic’, this is the first veterinary clinic of the central armed police forces in RK Puram, New Delhi.
DIG (Veterinary) GS Nag said, “BSF is the first force among the CAPFs to establish a veterinary clinic in Delhi. So far, the canines who are part of the BSF squads used to get on the spot veterinary care. We wanted to set up a hospital for them and DG BSF Daljit Singh Chawdhary assured us that he wll ensure a clinic is developed. He specially looked into it and ensured the clinic is developed ".
The BSF has medal winning tracker dgs in their K-9 units deployed across the frontiers at Indo Pakistan and Indo Bangladesh border. The force also has equestrian and camels deployed in certain terrains of the country.
The dogs in the K-9 unit travel from several kilometers from one unit to another as per deployment and need, the K-9 unit requires timely care ad checks. The Delhi veterinary clinic hs been set up to ensure all K-9s get best medical care.
DIG Nag explained, "The K-9 clinic is equipped with modern infrastructure and has al the latest diagnostic machines from X-Ray, ultrasound, ECG and more. The K-9s will get basic to advanced medical care in this clinic. Gradually, the clinic will expand for more infrastructural benefits. There are BSF veterinaries deployed for round the clock service".
He added, “The dogs in K-9 units from Delhi-NCR are deployed for sensitive assignments and getting them best medical care and holistic wellness is our humble agenda. K-9s from other units also travel and come here for assignments; this wll benefit all units across”.
The K-9 units of BSF have been tackling terrorism on western and northern borders, smuggling and intrusions on eastern. The K-9 ‘desi’ stars like Riya hve bagged gold medals from tracking and Mowgli for jumping the 18 feet wall at BSF event. These canines deserve all the care BSF has decided to offer them.
The K-9 unit at RK Puram will also cater to pets of the BSF family who need medical care. |
