Baccarat is a popular card game played at casinos worldwide. It is a comparing card game played between two hands, the “player“ and the “banker“. Each round of play, known as a coup, has three possible outcomes: “player“ has the higher score, “banker“ has the higher score, or a “tie“.
The goal of Baccarat is to correctly predict which hand will have a total value closest to 9. Cards 2 through 9 are worth their face value in points. Aces are worth 1 point, and 10s and face cards (King, Queen, Jack) are worth 0 points. If the total value of the cards exceeds 9, only the last digit of the total is considered. For example, a hand with a 7 and an 8 (totaling 15) is worth 5 points.
The game follows a fixed set of rules to determine whether a third card is drawn for the player and/or the banker. Players do not make decisions on drawing cards; the rules are predetermined. Bets are placed before the cards are dealt, on either the player\“s hand, the banker\“s hand, or a tie. |
