Field events in sports are athletic competitions that involve jumping, throwing, or other physical activities performed in a designated field area. Examples include the long jump, where athletes leap as far as possible from a take-off point; the high jump, which involves clearing a horizontal bar at increasing heights; and the shot put, where competitors throw a heavy metal ball for distance. Other notable field events are the discus throw, javelin throw, and pole vault. These events test strength, speed, and technique, and are often part of track and field meets in schools and international competitions like the Olympics. |
