Just the day before, his wife Jyoti Singh had met Jansuraj chief Prashant Kishore in Patna, which also fuelled another round of speculation saying that she wanted to contest in the elections. Jyoti made headlines recently after she accused Pawan of abandonment, infidelity, and abuse. The ongoing dispute between the couple also included politics, as Pawan accused his wife in a counter-argument of pressuring him to let her contest in the elections. Jyoti had denied the claims.

Local reports said that many in the Ara city believed that Pawan Singh contesting on a BJP ticket could strengthen the NDA’s hold there. The party only won by a close margin in the last elections in the region. Last week, a photograph of Pawan embracing the senior NDA leader Upendra Kushwaha trended and made headlines.
On September 30th, the film star also met with senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party National President JP Nadda in Delhi.
Pawan Singh hails from Shahabad, which includes Bhojpur, Ara, Rohtas, Sasaram, Kaimur, Bhabha, and Buxar making it an area crucial to Bihar politics. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the NDA had lost four of the five seats in the region following the suspension of Pawan Singh and the conflict between the Rajput and the Kushwaha communities. The split in the votes and Pawan contesting as an Independant were considered the cause of the party's defeat in the region.
When the meeting with the leaders happened it was considered to as a move to bring back the influential commmunities back to voting for the NDA. |
