The Savannah-Georgia Convention Centre Authority (SGCCA) and global hospitality company Hilton have officially broken ground on the 444-room Signia by Hilton Savannah, slated to open in mid-2028. Owned by SGCCA and developed in partnership with the Georgia World Congress Centre Authority (GWCCA), the new property will serve as the Savannah Convention Centre’s headquarters hotel, managed by Hilton.
“Signia by Hilton Savannah's signing and groundbreaking represents an integral milestone as we continue to expand our presence across Georgia, where Hilton currently welcomes travellers at approximately 270 hotels,” said Amy King, Vice President, Luxury & Mixed-use Development, Hilton. “We are honoured to partner with the Savannah-Georgia Convention Centre Authority to introduce the city's first Signia property in the heart of the Low Country and contribute to the city's continued tourism growth.”
Following the success of Signia by Hilton Atlanta, which opened in 2024, the Savannah project reinforces Hilton’s growth in Georgia and expands the brand’s footprint across major meetings and convention destinations. The property will bring Signia’s signature blend of approachable luxury, elevated amenities, and seamless service to Savannah’s fast-evolving riverfront.
Developed in collaboration with Songy Highroads and Matthews Southwest Hospitality, the hotel will feature over 34,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including a 13,000-square-foot ballroom, five dining venues, an outdoor pool, and Club Signia, a premium guest experience concept. Directly connected to the convention centre, it aims to enhance Savannah’s position as one of the Southeast’s most sought-after destinations for conferences, exhibitions, and events.
Guests can expect sophisticated design, smart-room technology, and locally inspired architecture across spacious rooms and public spaces. Dining highlights will include a chef-driven restaurant, a rooftop bar with panoramic river views, and an upscale grab-and-go market.
A state-of-the-art fitness centre, group wellness experiences, and luxurious leisure amenities will also be part of the offering, reflecting Signia’s commitment to holistic hospitality.
Upon completion, Signia by Hilton Savannah will join a growing global portfolio that includes Signia by Hilton Amman, which opened earlier this year, and the upcoming Signia by Hilton Indianapolis, set for 2026. Guests will also enjoy benefits through Hilton Honors, the brand’s award-winning loyalty programme.
“Today is a grand day for Savannah, Chatham County, and the State of Georgia," said SGCCA Board Chairman Mark Smith. "This hotel will ensure that our Convention Centre will perform at maximum capacity, augmenting our vibrant tourism industry and creating upward mobility and prosperity for all.” |
