Sameep Shastri, currently serving as Vice Chairman of the BRICS Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BRICS CCI), is set to assume the role of Chairman, marking a significant leadership transition within the organisation as India sharpens its engagement with the expanding BRICS bloc.
Shastri has emerged as one of the more visible Indian voices within BRICS-linked institutional and policy conversations in recent years, particularly around global cooperation, sustainable development, trade diplomacy, and multipolar economic engagement.
Apart from his role at BRICS CCI, Shastri is also associated with the Indian Institute of Governance & Leadership and the Confederation of Young Leaders, where he has worked on youth leadership, governance, and international collaboration initiatives.
His elevation comes at a strategically important moment for BRICS, which has been witnessing growing geopolitical and economic relevance amid the expansion of the grouping and increasing conversations around alternative global trade and financial frameworks.
