Bank of Baroda Friday reported an 11 per cent rise in profit for the January-March quarter, supported by healthy loan growth and an improvement in asset quality, and recommended a dividend for the year ended March 31.
India’s second-largest state-owned lender said profit after tax for the fourth quarter rose to Rs 5,616 crore, while net profit for the full financial year FY26 increased 2.2 per cent to Rs 20,021 crore.
The bank’s board recommended a dividend of Rs 8.5 per equity share for FY26.
Net interest income rose 8.7 per cent year-on-year to Rs 12,494 crore in the fourth quarter. For the full year, NII increased 2.5 per cent to Rs 47,682 crore.
Global net interest margin stood at 2.89 per cent for both the quarter and FY26. Domestic net interest margin improved to 3.08 per cent in the March quarter from 3.04 per cent for the full year.
Asset quality strengthened further, with the gross non-performing asset ratio declining to 1.89 per cent at the end of March from 2.26 per cent a year earlier. The net NPA ratio fell 13 basis points year-on-year to 0.45 per cent.
Loan growth remained strong across segments. Domestic advances rose 14.5 per cent year-on-year to Rs 11,69,458 crore, while global advances increased 16.2 per cent to Rs 14,29,879 crore. International advances grew 24.4 per cent to Rs 2,60,421 crore.
On the funding side, domestic deposits increased 12.8 per cent to Rs 14,01,290 crore, while global deposits rose 12.0 per cent to Rs 16,48,487 crore. International deposits grew 7.5 per cent to Rs 2,47,197 crore.
The bank said retail advances expanded 17.9 per cent during the year, led by growth in auto loans, mortgage loans, home loans and education loans. Agriculture loans rose 20.7 per cent to Rs 1,91,063 crore, MSME advances increased 15.6 per cent to Rs 1,59,786 crore, and corporate advances grew 11.2 per cent to Rs 4,56,584 crore. |
