Nothing's budget sub-brand is swinging harder than ever with its third-generation smartwatch. Here is what stood out straight out of the box.
Design and Build
The Watch 3 Pro comes in three colour variants, each with slightly differing dimensions and weight. The Dark Grey measures 25.8 cm (H) x 4.7 cm (W) x 1.44 cm (D) and weighs 51.9 grams. The Light Grey shares the same height and width at 25.8 cm x 4.7 cm but is marginally thicker at 1.52 cm, and is the lightest of the three at 51.0 grams. The Orange variant matches the Dark Grey's height and width but sits at 1.45 cm in depth, weighing 52.4 grams.
The body is constructed from a metal frame paired with a liquid silicone strap, and the straps are removable, which opens the door to third-party or future CMF band options. The construction approach, metal body over a soft-touch strap, is one that positions the Watch 3 Pro closer to premium territory than its price category typically demands.
Display
The watch uses a 1.43-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels at 326 PPI. Brightness is rated at a typical peak of 650 nits, with a maximum of 670 nits. The refresh rate sits at 60 fps, keeping the interface smooth during navigation. The screen-to-body ratio is 91 per cent, aided by ultra-thin bezels. Auto-brightness adjusts dynamically in real time based on ambient conditions.
Watch face options number over 120, spanning static, dynamic, interactive, and Always-On Display variants. The AI-powered Watch Face Studio allows users to generate original faces, and the watch also supports photo album watch faces and video watch faces uploaded from the companion app.
Health and Fitness Monitoring
This is where the Watch 3 Pro invests most heavily. On the heart rate side, the new generation optical sensor captures finer variations in blood flow and claims up to 7 per cent greater accuracy during exercise and up to 3.6 per cent greater accuracy at rest compared to the previous generation. It supports automatic heart rate measurement, 24-hour continuous monitoring, resting heart rate, exercise heart rate, heart rate zone tracking, heart rate reminders, and average heart rate calculations.
Sleep tracking has been overhauled with enhanced motion sensors and high-frequency heart rate sampling. The watch recognises short naps, stages sleep more accurately, and introduces a high-precision mode for deeper analysis that users can enable on demand.
Blood oxygen (SpO2) monitoring runs continuously around the clock, with blood oxygen reminders when levels fall outside expected ranges. Stress monitoring is also a 24/7 feature. For women, the watch includes physiological health records with intelligent cycle tracking and prediction.
The Active Score system offers a single weekly activity score that draws on heart rate data and MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values. It combines activity intensity with total movement volume, updates daily and after each session, and is benchmarked against a weekly target of 100, aligned with global health standards.
Additional health tracking features include all-day step count, calories burned, distance covered, exercise duration, a water intake reminder, and a stand-up reminder for sedentary periods. Guided breathing sessions are also built in, with breathing exercises that respond to real-time stress and heart rate data.
Fitness and Sports Features
The Watch 3 Pro supports 131 sports modes, each providing dedicated metrics including calories, pace, recovery time, and heart rate zone data. Of these, seven activities benefit from smart automatic recognition: walking, running, cycling, and rowing are confirmed among the seven. If a workout begins without the user manually starting tracking, the watch prompts them and retrospectively fills in the missing data.
The custom running coach builds a personalised 8 to 16-week training schedule tailored to the user's goals, fitness level, and recovery needs. The plan targets improvements in VO2 max and fat burn through structured session types, including tempo runs, intervals, and steady-state efforts. The plan adapts in real time based on the body's response.
Post-workout, the watch generates a custom summary with intensity feedback, recovery time recommendations, load trend analysis, and endurance predictions for 5K and 10K run distances. Workout screens are customisable, allowing users to surface the metrics most relevant to them.
Pre-session support comes in the form of 3D animated warm-up guides that activate specific muscle groups before a run or ride, with post-session stretching prompts to support recovery and reduce injury risk. Music controls are embedded within the workout interface, accessible via a swipe, without interrupting the active session.
Sensors and GPS
The sensor suite includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and a combined heart rate and SpO2 blood oxygen saturation sensor. The GPS implementation is dual-band, supporting both L1 and L5 signal bands for improved positioning accuracy in urban environments, dense foliage, and areas with tall structures where single-band GPS typically degrades. The system is compatible with GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, and Beidou satellite networks. Continuous GPS use is rated at 17.2 hours. The haptic feedback system uses a linear motor.
Battery
The Watch 3 Pro houses a 350 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Rated battery life breaks down as follows: 13 days under typical use, 10 days under heavy use, 4.5 days with Always-On Display active alongside heavy use, and up to 60 days in power saving mode. Continuous Bluetooth call time is rated at 17.9 hours. Charging is handled via a proprietary charging line and takes 99 minutes to reach full capacity. The watch carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
Smart Features and Connectivity
Bluetooth connectivity is version 5.3. The watch is compatible with Android 6.0 and above, and iOS 13 and above, managed through the Nothing X companion app. Nothing X serves as the central hub for settings management, detailed health metric viewing (including stress, SpO2, and VO2 max), layout customisation, and intelligent health summaries. The app supports integration with Google Health Connect, Apple Health, and Strava.
Bluetooth calling is supported directly from the wrist via two high-performance MEMS microphones and a built-in speaker. The AI-based noise reduction system has been trained on over 100,000 voice samples. Up to 30 contacts can be synced for quick access. Quick replies of up to 140 characters are supported across messaging and email applications in Southeast Asia, East Asia, Europe, and the United States.
ChatGPT is integrated directly into the watch for natural-language queries, day planning, and information retrieval. This feature is currently exclusive to Nothing OS and requires the latest software version. Voice recording with automatic transcription via the Nothing X app is also available.
The Essential News feature delivers a curated daily digest of interest-based news to the wrist each morning, with topics configurable by the user.
Gesture shortcuts allow control of the watch without touching the screen, using movements such as a wrist flip or a double shake to trigger key actions. The full list of smart features includes recording transcription, news reporting, cloud watch faces, photo album and video watch faces, a watch face generator, breath training, message notifications, music control, timer, stopwatch, alarm clock, emoji message alarms, weather updates, Find My Phone, flashlight, camera remote, reminders, voice assistant, calendar, calculator, and world clock.
