Maryland, USA.
Twelve Major Indian companies are set to announce significant greenfield investments in the United States, marking one of the largest-ever investment pushes and announcements by Indian firms into the American market during an investment summit, the sources in Washington DC said.
This is the largest investment being announced by Indian companies during the SelectUSA Investment Summit. The USA Department of Commerce is holding the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2026 in Maryland, USA.
"SelectUSA Investment Summit is the front door to the Department of Commerce and the USA. We are here to help you. If you have a significant commitment to the USA, we will help you with permits and land. Tell us what you need. Department of Commerce is going to make it easier for you to invest. We are here to deliver the ecosystem of the USA to the investors" the United States Secretary of Commerce. Haward Lutnick, announced during his Plenary Session speech.
The announcements by Indian companies are likely to be made during the week in the SelectUSA Investment Summit 2026. Sources close to the Indian delegation described the collective commitments as the largest such investment announcement in this category by Indian companies in the USA.
The 12 companies will make individual announcements covering a range of sectors, with a strong focus on IT and technology. Approximately 20 percent of the companies are from the pharmaceutical sector, the sources said.
Notably, eight of the top 15 Indian pharma companies by revenue — all Indian players — are part of this high-powered delegation and will be committing fresh investments in the United States.
These greenfield projects represent additional capacity creation in the US and are expected to improve bilateral ties between India and the USA and expand Indian corporate footprints in critical sectors. Participants at the summit have called this the second-highest investment wave in the STAR stage, backed by one of the largest investment-specific Indian delegations ever to visit the United States.
Exact investment figures, company names, and project locations are expected to be revealed shortly as the announcements roll out during the summit. This development underscores the growing two-way investment flow between India and the USA come as both nations deepen their strategic economic partnership. |
