A SWISS aircraft caught fire at the Delhi’s IGI airport, bound for Zurich, caught fire in one of its rear engine gears early on Sunday. The flight LX147 had to abort take-off after smoke rose out of one of its engines. The Airbus A330-300 aircraft was carrying approximately 232 passengers and crew, the Economic Times reported.
Six passengers were hospitalised after sustaining injuries during evacuations through the chute.

The flight registered as HB-JHK bound for Zurich was on its take-off roll on Runway 28 at approximately 1.08 am local time when the engine number one failed and caught fire.
According to information from Flight Rader, the aircraft took off as at a speed of 104 knots when the engine failure happened, and the crew abandoned take-off.
In a statement, SWISS said that the crew rejected the take-off and, after the assessment, decided to evacuate the aircraft.
"All passengers and crew evacuated the aircraft via the emergency slides. Six passengers are currently undergoing medical evaluation. For a small number of individuals who were unable to use the slides, stairs were provided," the spokesperson said.
