DelhiTraffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the ‘Lionel Messi G.O.A.T India Tour -Delhi Leg” scheduled at Arun Jaitley Stadium (Ferozshah Kotla Ground) on December 15, 2025 from 1 pm to 4 pm because of regulated movement and expected spectator rush.
As per the advisory, commuters should be prepared for diversions and restrictions on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Marg. The traffic police also mentioned that heavy vehicles will not be allowed on the route from Daryaganj to Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and from Guru Nanak Chowk to Asaf Ali Road during the restriction period.

Roads to avoid and diversion routes
To reduce congestion, the advisory advises the road users to avoid taking certain stretches between 12 noon and 5 pm on the day of the event, as congestion is likely to take place because of spectator movement. The stretches to avoid include:
JLN Marg from Rajghat to Delhi Gate upto R/A Kamla Market (both carriageways)
Bahadurshah Zafar Marg from Delhi Gate to Ramcharan Agarwal Chowk (ITO ( both carriageways).
Asaf Ali Road from Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate.
Parking arrangements and Arun Jaitley Stadium entry gates
For visitors who are planning to head to the stadium, the Delhi Traffic Police has also shared entry gate guidance. Gates 1-8 will be accessible from Bahadurshah Zafar Marg (southern side). Gates 10-15 will be approached from JLN Marg near the Ambedkar Stadium Bus Terminal (eastern side). Gates 16-19 can be used from Bahadurshah Zafar Marg near a petrol pump (western side).

Free parking lots
Free parking lots have been identified at Mata Sundari Road, Velodrome Road and Rajghat Power House Road. However, parking close to the stadium will be restricted to labelled vehicles only. The advisory also mentioned that the parking label must be displayed carefully and should carry the vehicle number and the driver/owner’s mobile number. Vehicles that don’t have valid labels will not be permitted near the venue.
Entry to labelled parking will be through the Vikram Nagar cut-off BSZ Marg near Shahidi Park. The Delhi Police Traffic advisory also cautions that there will be no parking on Bahardurshah Zafar Marg, Ring Road stretch from Rajghat to the I.P. Flyover and JLN Marg. Illegally parked vehicles will be towed and prosecuted. App-based taxi pick-up and drop points have been marked at Rajghat Chowk and Maulana Azad Medical College (Gate No 2, BSZ Marg). |
