Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said on Wednesday it will acquire US-based Coastal Cloud for USD 700 million in cash, strengthening the Indian IT giant’s Salesforce consulting portfolio and widening its access to mid-market clients in its largest market, the United States.
TCS said it signed a definitive agreement to buy 100 per cent of the Salesforce Summit-tier partner, which brings more than 400 specialists and over 3,000 multi-cloud certifications. The deal follows TCS’ acquisition of ListEngage in October.
Founded in 2012, Coastal Cloud focuses on enterprise-scale Salesforce transformations across sales, marketing, service, revenue and data cloud solutions. The company is led by Eric Berridge, a long-time Salesforce industry veteran, and has backing from Salesforce Ventures.
TCS Chief Operating Officer Aarthi Subramanian said the purchase marks “a pivotal milestone” in advancing the company’s global Salesforce and AI-led transformation agenda. She said the addition of Coastal Cloud’s talent would expand advisory, business consulting, AI and data capabilities across industries.
Berridge said joining TCS would give Coastal Cloud greater scale and reach, while expanding its ability to modernise processes and design solutions for global clients. TCS plans to integrate the company alongside ListEngage under a combined leadership structure.
TCS said the two acquisitions expand its geographic footprint, deepen its vertical expertise and strengthen its talent pipeline as enterprises accelerate multi-cloud and AI adoption. The company added that it will continue to pursue acquisitions aligned with its priorities in AI, cloud, cybersecurity, digital engineering and enterprise solutions. |
