The Hero Indian Super League 2019-20 season featured 10 teams competing in India\“s premier football league. This edition marked the sixth season of the ISL and saw some exciting developments in Indian football.
The participating teams included ATK, Bengaluru FC, Chennaiyin FC, FC Goa, Hyderabad FC, Jamshedpur FC, Kerala Blasters FC, Mumbai City FC, NorthEast United FC, and Odisha FC. Each team represented different regions of India, bringing local talent and international players together.
FC Goa emerged as the league stage winners with 39 points from 18 matches, while ATK won the championship title after defeating Chennaiyin FC in the final. The season was notable for being the first to have a straight entry for the ISL winners into the AFC Champions League group stage.
Several Indian products and brands were prominently featured during the season. Hero MotoCorp, as the title sponsor, continued its strong association with Indian football. Other local brands like Apollo Tyres, Dream11, and BYJU\“S also played significant roles in supporting the league.
The tournament showcased the growing popularity of football in India and provided a platform for local players to develop their skills alongside international professionals.
