Kabaddi is a traditional Indian sport that has gained international recognition. A standard kabaddi team consists of 7 players on the court at any given time. However, each team typically has 12 players in total, with 5 substitutes available for rotation during the match.
The game is played between two teams, and each team takes turns sending a raider into the opponent\“s half. The raider\“s objective is to tag as many defenders as possible and return to their own half while chanting kabaddi. The defenders aim to stop the raider from returning to their half by tackling them.
Kabaddi requires excellent physical fitness, breath control, and strategic thinking. The sport is particularly popular in rural India and has been promoted through various national and international competitions. The Pro Kabaddi League in India has significantly increased the sport\“s popularity and commercial value in recent years. |
