The Hero Indian Super League (ISL) has emerged as one of the fastest-growing football leagues in Asia, though its global ranking remains modest compared to top European competitions. Established in 2013, the ISL has significantly boosted football\“s popularity in India, attracting international stars and improving local talent. However, in world football league rankings, the ISL typically places outside the top 30, often ranked between 40th and 60th globally, depending on the criteria used by organizations like the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS).

Despite its relatively low global standing, the ISL plays a crucial role in promoting football in India. The league has helped develop homegrown players and infrastructure, contributing to the sport\“s growth in a cricket-dominated nation. With increasing investment and viewership, the ISL aims to climb higher in world rankings over the coming years, focusing on youth development and international partnerships. |
