Kabaddi is a traditional Indian sport that originated in ancient India and is now popular throughout South Asia and internationally. The game involves two teams of seven players each, with one player from the attacking team （known as the raider） entering the opposing team\“s half to tag as many defenders as possible while chanting kabaddi repeatedly without taking a breath.
The defenders try to stop the raider by tackling or catching them before they return to their own half. Points are scored when the raider successfully tags defenders and returns safely, or when defenders prevent the raider from returning. Kabaddi requires strength, speed, stamina, and strategic thinking, making it an exciting spectator sport.
In Maharashtra, kabaddi holds significant cultural importance and is played in villages and cities alike. The Pro Kabaddi League has further popularized the sport across India, featuring teams from various regions including Maharashtra.
