What has led to the meeting?

Recently, Kiran Shaw had offered to fix the city’s roads, potholes, and garbage mess, drawing praise from former Finance Minister P Chidambaram. She recently highlighted a number of issues that the people in the city have been facing due to poor and deteriorating infrastructure.

However, the Karnataka government attacked her for de-faming the city, with Shivakumar saying that Bengaluru has given so much to her and if she “wants to develop them (roads), let her do it. If she comes and asks, we will give her the roads”.
The BJP and social media users slammed the Karnataka government for targeting Shaw, and others for flagging the concern that the city has. She had said that Bengaluru’s infrastructure could be transformed with intent and a $1 billion investment.
