City Union Bank has opened applications for the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, inviting seasoned banking professionals to lead the institution into its next phase of growth and digital transformation.
The Kumbakonam-headquartered private lender has set 7 November 2025 as the final date for submitting applications. The successful candidate will be appointed for a three-year term, subject to clearance from the Reserve Bank of India.
According to the bank’s eligibility criteria, applicants must have at least 25 years of experience in banking or financial services, with five years in a senior leadership capacity overseeing critical areas such as risk management, technology, compliance, or digital banking.
Preference will be given to professionals currently serving as full-time directors in banks, with a strong track record in governance and regulatory compliance. Knowledge of Tamil is also considered desirable, given the bank’s deep regional presence and customer base.
The selected leader will be responsible for steering the bank through a competitive financial landscape shaped by digital innovation, evolving regulatory frameworks, and changing customer expectations.
The appointment comes amid a wave of senior leadership transitions across India’s banking sector, reflecting a broader focus on strategic agility and succession planning.
