Hitachi Energy has announced a ₹2,000-crore investment to expand its Chennai operations over the next five years, marking a significant boost to India’s clean energy and advanced manufacturing landscape. The initiative aims to reinforce the company’s long-term commitment to sustainable growth and technological innovation in the country.
The expansion is expected to generate nearly 3,000 new jobs, both directly and indirectly, in Tamil Nadu. The company said the project would enhance domestic production capacity for grid automation systems, power equipment, and digital energy solutions, catering to India’s growing renewable energy demand.
This move aligns with the government’s “Make in India” and green energy transition goals, as Hitachi Energy positions India as a key hub for innovation and export of sustainable technologies.
With this investment, the company seeks to strengthen its role in advancing India’s renewable infrastructure and contribute to the creation of a resilient, low-carbon energy ecosystem over the coming decade. |
