Kärcher India has introduced the WD 3–17L, a wet-and-dry vacuum cleaner now manufactured locally. The product is part of the company’s alignment with the Government of India’s “Make in India” initiative and is intended to improve product availability, reduce costs, and enable faster access for customers across the country.
The WD 3–17L is available through Kärcher’s official webshop, Amazon, Flipkart, and major retail outlets nationwide. The company has stated its intention to scale production in the coming years to meet growing consumer demand. “Kärcher is a household brand in Germany and in Europe, renowned for its quality and reliability, and this proud legacy is now being carried forward in India,” said Prashanth Srirangam, Director, Kärcher India. “By combining German engineering with the strengths of local manufacturing, we are not only delivering a powerful and versatile machine tailored for Indian households, but also ensuring greater accessibility, service support, and long-term value for our customers across the country.”
The WD 3–17L is built on Kärcher’s WD Series platform and features a 17-litre plastic container designed for vacuuming both wet and dry debris. It is suitable for use in homes, garages, and balconies. The device includes a 1000W motor that balances suction power with energy efficiency. It comes equipped with a 2-metre suction hose and a Clips floor nozzle, allowing for the cleaning of fine, coarse, wet, or dry dirt. A one-piece cartridge filter enables users to switch between wet and dry vacuuming without changing filters.
Additional features include an integrated blower function for cleaning hard-to-reach areas and a compact design with cable hooks and hose storage on the device head. The unit is designed for ease of transport and storage, particularly in homes with limited space. Kärcher has also expanded the availability of accessories and spare parts through its webshop and retail partners.
The WD 3–17L is intended for both domestic and workshop environments, offering a combination of efficiency, user-friendly design, and versatility. The inclusion of a blower function and cartridge filter is aimed at simplifying cleaning tasks without requiring additional equipment. |
