Qubo 3 Channel Dashcam Pro 2K Review: A Must-have For Modern-day Indian Roads

The Qubo 3 Channel Dashcam Pro 2K enters a competitive market segment where most three-channel dashcams are priced in the ballpark of Rs 30,000 or more. At Rs. 9,990 (plus Rs 699 to 899 for professional installation), it promises affordability without compromising too heavily on features. A three-channel dashcam means three separate cameras: one facing the road ahead, one monitoring the cabin, and one covering the rear. This setup is particularly useful for daily commuters, cab drivers, ride-hailing services, and just about all private car owners who want comprehensive coverage of their journeys.
Design And Build Quality

The dashcam unit has 3 parts, to be precise. The main camera is the bigger component in this unit that records the front of the car. The lens on this camera can be articulated left as well as right, which allows it to be set up in the corner of the car, as opposed to the centre of the car, which is usually a standard place for a dashcam.

The cabin camera attaches itself to the main camera body via a USB Type-C attachment. The rear camera, as the name suggests, needs to be set up at the back of the car. Now, if you choose to install all this yourself, be prepared to unbuckle the car sleeves with a pair of pliers so that the wiring is embedded inside the fittings instead of just dangling around. Or, you could just call the Qubo tech team up on xxx xxx xxx and book an appointment. It will cost you Rs 1,200 and save you a lot of time and energy.

  • Dimensions: 125.7 × 38 × 42.9 mm (main camera body)
  • 3.16-inch 376 x 960 IPS LCD screen
  • Has a supercapacitor
  • Has a speaker and a mic
  • Finish: Piano-black, sleek, and premium-looking despite being plastic
  • User Interface: Four navigation buttons, responsive UI, but no dedicated photo capture button
The dashcam blends well with dark car interiors, avoiding distraction. Its broad casing raised initial concerns about obstructing the driver’s view, but testing proved otherwise.
Installation And App Experience

  • Installation: Quick (15 to 20 minutes), but professional installation costs Rs. 1,200. Importantly, no wires are cut, preserving the car warranty and insurance validity.
  • App: Qubo Pro app (Android/iOS). Initial setup is easy and quite intuitive, to be honest. I did, however, need two attempts to connect. Once running, it is all good. The app provides real-time footage, GPS tracking, device health, and event logs. Mind you, this is not GPS tracking in the sense that you can track it from home. You will have to be inside the car within the dashcam’s 2.4GHz wifi range to access all this.
Camera Specifications:

  • Front Camera: 4-megapixel sensor, 2K resolution, 140-degree field of view
  • Cabin Camera: 1080p resolution, 120-degree field of view, infrared night vision
  • Rear Camera: 1080p resolution, 120-degree field of view
  • Storage: Supports up to 1TB microSD cards
  • Display: 3.16-inch IPS LCD, decent refresh rate
Daytime And Night Performance

  • Front Camera:

    • Daytime: Direct sunlight sometimes leads to overexposure and affects clarity; overall picture is good.
    • Night: Performs well under street lighting, with accurate colours and wide coverage; the nighttime coverage is actually better than I thought.

  • Cabin Camera:

    • Daytime: Clear and reliable.
    • Night: IR night vision ensures sharp footage inside the car. All passengers are visible and can be distinguished

  • Rear Camera:

    • Daytime: I found the daytime performance of the rear camera a bit better than the main camera
    • Night: Struggles a bit with glare from brake lights and headlights

Event Capture And G-sensor

The G-sensor is designed to detect sudden movements (like hard braking or collisions) and automatically save footage. I did find the Qubo 3-channel record false events a couple of times when tackling large potholes at higher speeds. That said, these were really large potholes and I was driving at around 40 to 50 km/h speeds.
Verdict: Should You Buy The Qubo Qubo 3 Channel Dashcam Pro 2K?

The dashcam fever in India is much warranted because of the condition of the roads as well as the temperament of drivers these days. You simply never know what is going to happen next. This kind of makes the ‘dashcam’ similar to a health insurance policy, where you invest a particular sum of money hoping you never have to use it.
The Qubo 3 Channel Dashcam Pro 2K is a value-for-money three-channel dashcam which gets you complete video coverage of outside and inside the vehicle. It fills a gap between budget two-channel models and premium 4K setups.
What Stood Out?

  • Affordable pricing compared to rivals
  • Impressive front camera night performance
  • Easy installation and intuitive interface
  • Records in H.265, retaining as much detail as possible
  • 1-year warranty
What Could Have Been Better?

  • Often inconsistent clarity
  • Decent night performance
  • Only a select number of microSD cards go with the product
The last pointer really struck a chord. I was with the Qubo tech team advisor, installing the camera in the car, when I was made aware that the microSD card I have might not work with this model. This was certainly a different experience than other microSD products I have had, such as the GoPro. I had to get a Samsung Evo series microSD card, which worked after we formatted it.
The dashcam runs fine in the Delhi heat as well. The camera setup was working just fine, even in ambient temperatures of over 40 degrees Celsius, indicating that thermal management is in place. Qubo claims that these can run even at temperatures of 85 degrees Celsius. There is no official IP rating, though. I would recommend you not take liquids anywhere near the cameras.
In terms of design, I must give it a 9 out of 10. The build quality matches the price tag and is sturdy enough for indoor conditions. As far as performance goes, it is a solid 8 on 10. The overall value for money score has to be a satisfactory 8 on 10.
If you demand flawless 4K recording along with Starvis 2, this is not for you. That said, if you want a reliable, three-channel dashcam at a fraction of the usual price, the Qubo 3 Channel Dashcam Pro 2K is a compelling option. It is particularly suited for cab drivers and budget-conscious car owners who want comprehensive coverage without overspending.
