Brazilian aerospace giant Embraer on Monday signed an agreement with Bharat Forge for the supply of forged raw materials, marking Embraer’s first such partnership with an Indian supplier.
Calling the development a milestone for the company, Amit B. Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge, said the agreement reflects the aerospace capabilities developed by the firm and strengthens its partnership with Embraer.
Kalyani noted that the contract would help Bharat Forge scale up production of critical structural components while complementing its existing aeroengine components business.
The agreement is aimed at supporting Embraer’s global supply chain with high-quality forged products as part of the company’s diversification strategy.
Roberto Chaves, Executive Vice President of Global Procurement and Supply Chain at Embraer, said India represents a major opportunity for the company, and the partnership would help build a more resilient and competitive supply chain while contributing to the growth of India’s aerospace sector.
The deal comes as Embraer continues to expand its footprint in India and deepen engagement with domestic industry players and government stakeholders. |
