Air India has inaugurated a brand-new premium lounge at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, aiming to provide enhanced comfort and convenience for its passengers. The state-owned carrier described the lounge as a significant step in upgrading its passenger experience and aligning with global standards of airline hospitality.
Spanning over 2,500 square feet, the new facility is designed to cater to both domestic and international travellers, offering a blend of modern amenities, luxurious seating, and dedicated workspaces. Passengers can enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations, entertainment zones, and a selection of gourmet snacks and beverages, reflecting Air India’s commitment to quality service.
Speaking at the launch, Air India’s spokesperson highlighted that the lounge represents the airline’s broader strategy to strengthen its brand image and compete with international carriers in terms of passenger comfort and hospitality. “We are dedicated to providing a seamless and relaxing journey for our customers, and this new lounge is a testament to that commitment,” the official said.
The lounge also includes private relaxation areas and conference rooms, making it suitable for business travellers who require a quiet environment to work or hold meetings. Special attention has been given to hygiene and safety, with the lounge equipped with touchless facilities, regular sanitisation, and adherence to health protocols, ensuring passengers feel secure during their visit.
Frequent flyers and members of Air India’s loyalty programme, Flying Returns, will enjoy priority access, along with passengers travelling in premium classes. The airline has indicated plans to roll out similar lounges at other key airports across India, enhancing the overall travel experience and providing greater consistency in service quality.
Industry analysts have welcomed the move, noting that improved airport facilities can influence passenger satisfaction and loyalty, particularly as Air India expands its international operations and modernises its fleet. The addition of the Terminal 3 lounge is expected to reinforce the airline’s position as India’s national carrier while offering a competitive edge in the fast-growing aviation sector.
With this launch, Air India aims not only to elevate passenger comfort but also to create a welcoming space that embodies Indian hospitality at one of the country’s busiest international gateways. |
