The India International Science Festival (IISF) 2024 will take place from November 30 to December 3, 2024, at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. This year, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) leads the event, which is supported by the National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST).
Theme of IISF 2024
The theme is “Transforming India into an S&T-driven Global Manufacturing Hub.” This reflects the government’s vision for integrating science and technology with industrial growth. The Ministry of Science and Technology is the main organizer.
Key Highlights
IISF 2024 will feature numerous events and activities for the public and scientific communities. One major attraction is “Chandrayaan: The Museum of the Moon,” showcasing an artistic model of the moon. The Mega Science and Technology Exhibition will highlight India’s achievements in STEM.
Special Events
“Make in India, Make for the World” will focus on India’s role in global manufacturing. The “New Nalanda” event aims to engage students with STEM through interactive exhibits. “Pragya Bharat” will explore new research frontiers. “Nari Shakti” will celebrate women’s contributions to STEM.
The S&T Hackathon will challenge students to develop innovative solutions for a self-reliant India. The “Young Scientists Conclave” will connect young researchers and innovators. The “Thought Leaders Round Table” will gather policymakers to discuss science’s future in India.
Workshops and Cultural Events
Workshops for teachers and start-up exhibitions will be included. There will be discussions on emerging technologies. Cultural celebrations will showcase North East India’s traditions.
IISF 2024 is open to the public and free to attend, which aims to promote collaboration and inspire young minds. The event will celebrate India’s scientific advancements in an engaging environment.
