Spanish clean-air technology company Zonair3D is expanding its engagement with India at a time when indoor air quality is gaining sharper attention from policymakers, public health experts and sustainability stakeholders across sectors. The company convened a closed-door interaction at the Spanish Ambassador’s Residence in New Delhi on Monday.
The gathering brought together institutional leaders, international partners and senior decision-makers, underscoring rising interest in how clean-air technologies can influence health outcomes in hospitals, educational institutions, workplaces and public infrastructure.
On the sidelines of the interaction, Alessandro Dotti, Group Chief Executive Officer of Zonair3D, outlined the company’s positioning as a clean-air solutions provider rather than a conventional air purifier manufacturer. He explained that the differentiation lies in a performance-led and scientific approach, where air-quality improvement is demonstrated through independent monitoring devices that track contamination levels in real time.
The company’s systems are designed to show faster and more sustained reduction in airborne pollutants compared with standard purifier-based models.
This focus on measurable outcomes has informed Zonair3D’s technology roadmap and its global expansion. The company operates in more than twenty countries, with deployments across healthcare facilities, institutional buildings, workplaces and residential settings. One of its early concepts, Bubble/Pure Air, was developed as a continuously regenerated clean-air environment rather than a sealed enclosure, reflecting a design philosophy that prioritises protection without isolation.
India As A Strategic Market
India is emerging as a central pillar in this global strategy. While acknowledging the country’s cost-sensitive nature, Dotti indicated that the company views indoor air quality as a preventive health investment rather than a discretionary consumer product. The India approach is therefore centred on delivering value for money through technological effectiveness and long-term health benefits, instead of premium branding.
Zonair3D is assessing price positioning for the Indian market, with localisation expected to play a critical role in improving affordability. The company has set up a wholly owned Indian subsidiary and plans to scale manufacturing under the Made in India programme. Production will be undertaken in partnership with Amber Enterprises India Limited, bringing together Spanish clean-technology innovation and Indian manufacturing scale. Over time, India could also serve as a base for export-oriented production, supplying markets beyond South Asia, including Europe.
On research and development, Zonair3D’s Indian operations are closely integrated with its R&D base in Spain, functioning as part of a unified global structure. India’s climatic conditions, marked by heat, humidity and high pollution levels, were described as particularly valuable for stress-testing clean-air technologies. Such conditions, according to Dotti, allow for faster product refinement than more stable European environments.
Dotti also highlighted the broader India-Spain partnership as a positive factor shaping the company’s long-term outlook. India’s ecosystem for technology development, manufacturing and investment is seen as conducive to scaling sustainable and preventive health solutions. As indoor air quality becomes a more prominent part of public health and sustainability discussions, Zonair3D’s India strategy signals a deeper alignment between clean-technology innovation and emerging market priorities. |
