Malaysia has established itself as a premier destination for international sports events in Southeast Asia. The country hosts numerous world-class competitions across various sports disciplines throughout the year.
One of the most prominent events is the Malaysia Open, part of the BWF World Tour in badminton. This tournament attracts top players from around the globe and is held annually at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur. 
Formula 1 fans recognize Malaysia for hosting the Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit from 1999 to 2017. Although no longer on the F1 calendar, the circuit continues to host other international motorsport events.
