India's largest carrier IndiGo announced on Sunday that its flight operations are showing marked recovery after experiencing widespread service disruptions that caused considerable passenger distress through delays and cancellations in recent days.
In its second official communication issued on 7 December, the airline detailed measurable progress in restoring normal service levels. The carrier operated approximately 1,650 flights on Sunday, representing a notable increase from roughly 1,500 the previous day. On-time performance surged dramatically to 75 per cent from around 30 per cent recorded on Saturday.
According to the airline's spokesperson, advance notification of cancellations has improved, enabling earlier passenger communication. The company has also activated full processing capabilities for both refunds and baggage claims across all booking channels, direct and third-party platforms.
"Our teams are working relentlessly to stabilize operations, and our primary focus remains on providing an enhanced travel experience for our customers," the spokesperson stated, emphasizing the airline's commitment to service restoration.
The airline now projects network stabilisation by 10 December, slightly ahead of its previously indicated timeframe of 10-15 December. Management expressed strong optimism about achieving this accelerated target.
IndiGo has advised passengers to verify current flight status through its website before airport departure and directed those requiring refund support to use dedicated online resources or contact customer service channels. |
