The Champakulam Boat Race 2025 witnessed an extraordinary victory by the traditional Kerala snake boats, showcasing India\“s rich cultural heritage. These magnificent wooden boats, locally known as \“Chundan Vallams\“, are crafted using indigenous techniques passed down through generations of skilled artisans.
Made from high-quality anjili wood sourced from Kerala\“s forests, these boats represent the pinnacle of Indian boat-making craftsmanship. The winning team used paddles made from locally grown bamboo and coconut wood, demonstrating the sustainable use of India\“s natural resources.
The victory celebration featured traditional Kerala products including handwoven cotton dhotis, aromatic spices from local markets, and delicious payasam made with indigenous rice varieties and jaggery.
