The Luxury Collection has announced the debut of The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, marking the brand’s first property in Singapore. Nestled within Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), the all-suite resort offers an immersive sanctuary that combines tropical charm, colonial elegance, rich biodiversity and culinary artistry, designed to create a true home away from home for global travellers.
“The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, marks a defining chapter in our brand’s journey, introducing an extraordinary destination where heritage, nature and luxury converge,” said Bruce Rohr, Vice President and Global Brand Leader, The Luxury Collection. “As our first property in Singapore, the resort exemplifies destination-led hospitality that allows travellers to connect with the city through a unique lens, while feeling welcomed into a refined sanctuary that feels deeply personal.”
Designed by award-winning firm P49 Deesign, the resort spans over 7,650 sq m and presents a contemporary interpretation of Singapore’s storied past. Colonial-inspired details, tropical accents and open verandas are integrated to evoke a sense of cultural authenticity. Orchids, Singapore’s national flower, are thoughtfully curated throughout the property, while the Buffy Fish Owl, a symbol of wisdom and guardianship, anchors the design narrative through sculptures and a striking stained-glass installation. A curated selection of art from the William Farquhar Collection of Natural History Drawings further deepens the connection to heritage.
The resort’s interiors reflect the refined taste of a cosmopolitan collector. Its lobby features a chandelier by Lasvit inspired by laurel leaves, and guests are welcomed with Voyage Céleste, an exclusive scent created by Maison21G, alongside delicacies showcasing Singapore’s artisanal heritage. Across 183 suites, timeless sophistication is expressed through monochromatic interiors, curated furnishings, luxury bedding and refreshments sourced from local artisans including ETTE Tea, Notter Nuts and Mr Bucket Chocolaterie.
Lee Shi Ruh, Chief Executive Officer, Resorts World Sentosa, remarked, “The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, reflects our ambition to set new benchmarks in luxury hospitality while offering travellers a sanctuary that feels like home. More than a hotel, it is a destination where culture and contemporary elegance come together, designed responsibly to delight discerning guests while honouring our community and environment.”
The resort also features Laurus Table, its specialty restaurant offering sustainable regional cuisine, alongside a spa, landscaped pool and fitness centre. Sustainability is integrated throughout the property, from energy-efficient guest room management systems and refillable amenities to water filtration taps and eco-conscious uniforms. The resort is on track to achieve Singapore’s Green Mark Platinum certification, reflecting excellence in sustainable building practices.
RWS has further repurposed trees felled during the resort’s expansion into artisanal boards and trays, while suites feature art from ART:DIS by local artists with disabilities, including photography by Isabelle Lim and paintings by Natalie Holstad. A sensory garden, landscaped to support pollination and avian diversity, enhances the property’s ecological harmony.
From architecture and art to cuisine and community, The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, embodies a philosophy of sustainable luxury, delivering a destination experience that celebrates heritage and nature while setting a new benchmark for refined hospitality in Singapore.
