Easebuzz has received approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to operate as a full-service Payment Aggregator (PA), allowing the fintech firm to handle online, offline and cross-border payment transactions. With this, Easebuzz becomes one of only three fintech companies in the country to hold all key PA licences.
The RBI approval enables the company to offer merchants a unified set of payment services, including online payment acceptance, point-of-sale (POS) transactions, UPI soundbox-based collections, and both inward and outward cross-border payments.
Rohit Prasad, MD & CEO, Easebuzz, said the milestone highlighted the company’s commitment to building compliant, scalable, and secure payments solutions. “This stands testimony to RBI’s progressive approach in reducing entry barriers and propelling the industry forward through an integrated payments ecosystem,” he added.
Easebuzz currently works with over 2.5 lakh merchants, processes around 3 million transactions daily, and records an annualised Gross Transaction Value (GTV) of USD 50 billion. For FY2024-25, the firm reported revenues of Rs 656 crore and a net profit of Rs 19 crore.
The expansion of its licence scope allows Easebuzz to support export-focused businesses, SaaS companies, D2C brands and other firms collecting payments from international customers. Its cross-border stack includes multi-currency acceptance, FX routing and settlement, and reconciliation tools aimed at easing global payment flows for Indian merchants.
The company offers sector-specific payment and API solutions for sectors such as education, insurance, NBFCs, travel, retail, e-commerce, real estate and government entities, integrating collections and payouts into their financial operations. |
