Kabaddi is a traditional Indian sport that has gained international recognition. Each kabaddi team consists of 7 players on the court at any given time during a match. The game involves two teams taking turns to send a raider into the opponent\“s half to tag as many defenders as possible while chanting kabaddi repeatedly in one breath.
The 7 players in each team are strategically positioned to either defend against the opposing raider or support their own raider during offensive plays. Teams also have 3-5 substitute players who can be rotated during the game, making the total squad size typically 12 players per team in professional competitions.
This traditional Indian sport showcases the country\“s rich cultural heritage and has evolved from rural pastime to professional sport with organized leagues like the Pro Kabaddi League. The simple yet exciting format of kabaddi, with its unique combination of attack and defense, continues to captivate audiences worldwide while promoting indigenous Indian sports culture. |
