Gautam Adani, Founder and Chairman of the Adani Group, said on Saturday that India is uniquely positioned at the convergence of clean energy and artificial intelligence, two transformative forces that will define the 21st century.
In a post on X, Adani highlighted his article published in a noted publication, where he elaborated on how the Adani-Google partnership in Visakhapatnam could help shape an “India-led, energy-efficient AI future.”
The billionaire industrialist described the USD 15 billion collaboration between Google and the Adani Group as more than just an investment. “It represents a fundamental shift in how we think about national infrastructure, a strategic move to position India at the centre of the global AI economy,” he wrote.
Under the partnership, Adani Enterprises, through its joint venture AdaniConneX, will work with Google to build the country’s largest artificial intelligence and data centre campus in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
According to earlier announcements, the AI and data centre hub, representing an investment of about USD 15 billion between 2026 and 2030, will include gigawatt-scale, green energy–powered data centre operations connected by a high-capacity subsea cable network. The facility will serve as the backbone for advanced AI workloads and innovation across India.
The project will be developed in partnership with AdaniConneX and Airtel, and will include investments in renewable energy generation, energy storage, and new transmission infrastructure across Andhra Pradesh.
Adani noted that this initiative combines the country’s clean energy leadership with its growing digital capabilities, a model he believes will define India’s role in the global technology and sustainability landscape for decades to come. |
