The sport involves two teams of seven players each, where one player from the attacking team （known as the raider） enters the opponent\“s half while chanting kabaddi repeatedly without taking a breath. The raider must tag as many defenders as possible and return to their half, while the defenders try to stop the raider from returning.
Kabaddi was first introduced as a demonstration sport in the 1990 Asian Games in Beijing and became a medal sport in the 1990 Asian Games. Since then, it has been featured in every subsequent Asian Games, with India dominating the medal tally in both men\“s and women\“s categories.
