A new study by consumer insights platform Smytten Pulse AI study reveals that over 60 per cent of respondents spend on health foods, about half on fitness gear and a sizable portion on dietary supplements.
18 to 24 year old, over 80 per cent plan to buy wellness or fitness products this festive season and among 25 to 34 year old, over 70 per cent plan to buy wellness or fitness products this festive season.
Roughly 60 per cent of respondents increasing wellness spend this year will shop online, with others splitting between offline stores and brand websites.
Over 65 per cent of shoppers for sportswear, gym equipment’s and health foods wait for festive offers before purchasing.
A majority of women plan to spend Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000 (equivalent) on wellness gifts, far higher than men.
Most wellness shoppers work out regularly and are aware of GST reductions on health and fitness products. Among those influenced by expert advice or general health awareness, over 70 to 80 per cent factor this into buying decisions.
