India hosted several major sports events in 2017 that showcased the country\“s growing capabilities in organizing international sporting competitions.
The 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup was held in India from October 6 to October 28, marking the first time India hosted a FIFA tournament. The event took place across six cities: New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Goa, Kochi, Guwahati, and Kolkata. 
Another significant event was the 2017 Kabaddi World Cup held in Ahmedabad from October 7 to October 22. India emerged as champions by defeating Pakistan in the final match.
The 2017 Indian Premier League （IPL） cricket tournament ran from April 5 to May 21, featuring eight teams competing in various cities across the country. Mumbai Indians won the championship.
Other notable sports events included the 2017 Badminton Asia Championships in Wuhan, the 2017 Hockey World League Final in Bhubaneswar, and various national championships in different sports disciplines throughout the year. |
