The Haryana government has transferred Rohtak superintendent of police Narendra Bijraniya after he was named in the case relating to the alleged suicide of IPS officer Y Puran Kumar and replaced him with Surinder Singh Bhoria. Bijraniya has not been given a post as of now.
The reshuffle has come amid the growing pressure from the officer's family, who are seeking action against senior officials who are alleged to be responsible for the IPS officer’s death. Kumar’s wife, Amneet Puran Kumar, filed a complaint at the police station naming the DGP Shatrujeet Kapoor, the Rohtak SSP, and other senior officials, citing harassment and abetment.
She filed the complaint after Puran Kumar named 8 senior IAS and IPS officers in his suicide note. He had alleged harassment and held them directly responsible for his decision to take his own life. He had also accused them of “blatant caste-based discrimination, targeted mental harassment, public humiliation, and atrocities.”

According to sources who spoke to the Times of India, the Haryana state government is also considering sending the Director General of Police DGP Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor on a long leave.
They are also considering the idea of appointing an officiating DGP to diffuse the situation.
Amneet’s complaint had demanded FIRs and arrests of the senior officials who were named. She had personally handed over her complaint to the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini when he visited their residence in Chandigarh around 12:30 pm on Thursday.

Amneet had also asked for permanent security for her daughter and her family, saying that they were in “serious threat and mental distress.”
Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi wrote to Amneet on Friday. She called the incident a grim reminder that even the highest officers in service are not immune to the prejudiced and biased attitude of those in power, an attitude that continues to deny many the ideals of social justice".
The state government is also trying to get Kumar’s family to agree to a post-mortem and cremation. Earlier, Amneet claimed that authorities had moved his body without the consent of the family to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research.
