India is set to host several major international sports events in the coming years that will showcase the country\“s growing capabilities in organizing world-class sporting competitions.
The 2026 ICC Men\“s T20 World Cup will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, bringing the fastest format of cricket to enthusiastic fans across the subcontinent. This tournament will feature 20 teams competing for the prestigious trophy.
India will also host the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women\“s World Cup, building on the success of the 2017 U-17 Men\“s World Cup. This event will help promote women\“s football and inspire young female athletes across the country.
The 2030 Asian Games bid represents India\“s ambition to host the second-largest multi-sport event after the Olympics. Several cities including Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore are being considered as potential hosts.
Other significant events include the 2024 Badminton Asia Championships in New Delhi and the 2025 World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting, which will feature top international athletes. |
