Fifty maggi packets, fresh vegetables, 15 types of spices, 20 kg basmati rice – these were the items stocked in a Kargil-style fortified bunker used by Jaish terrorist in the rugged and frozen mountains of Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir. The supply, officials said, were enough to provide sustenance for at least four persons during the winter months.
The hideout used by Pakistani terrorist Saifullah and his deputy Adil – perched at height of 12,000-feet – was busted by security forces Sunday.
During the encounter, the Jaish terrorists lobbed grenades, injuring seven soldiers and killing a Havildar, before escaping.
According to reports, the bunker had a fully fortified base with stone-lined walls and multiple entry points, mirroring military fortifications.
Senior officers, including Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone, and Inspector General of CRPF, Jammu, are currently camping near the site along with several army officers to supervise the operation, news agency PTI reported.

Multiple teams of the army, police, and paramilitary forces, supported by drones and sniffer dogs, are combing the area despite challenging terrain marked by thick vegetation and steep slopes, limiting visibility and movement. A group of two to three terrorists allegedly affiliated with the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) are believed to be trapped in the area, officials said.
Operations have been intensified across the Jammu region in the run-up to Republic Day to ensure peaceful celebrations, amid intelligence inputs about desperate attempts by Pakistan-based handlers to push more terrorists into the region, officials mentioned.
