Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) organized an Awareness Session on 'MSME Innovative (Design) Scheme': Industry-Academia Interface in collaboration with Department of Design, IIT Roorkee; Development and Facilitation Office (DFO-MSME), Solan; and District Industries Centre, Nahan (Sirmaur) on December 30, 2025 at Himachal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI), Paonta Sahib, Himachal Pradesh.

The core objective of this scheme is to bring Indian manufacturing sector and Design expertise/ Design fraternity on to a common platform. The scheme aims to provide expert advice by experienced designers for cost-effective solutions of real time design problems, new product development, its continuous improvement and value addition in existing/new products.

Prof. Inderdeep Singh, Dean, Infrastructure and Coordinator, Design Innovation Center, IIT Roorkee, coordinated the event and shared the details of the MSME Innovative (Design) Scheme to the participants from MSME units and other government organization. Prof. Apurbba Kumar Sharma, Head, Department of Design, IIT Roorkee; Sh. A. K. Gautam (IEDS), Assistant Director & Head of Office, Development and Facilitation Office (DFO-MSME), Solan; Sh. Parth Ashok (E.I), Assistant Director, Development and Facilitation Office (DFO-MSME), Solan; Rahul Bansal, Assistant Director, Development and Facilitation Office (DFO-MSME), Solan; Officials from District Industries Centre, Nahan (Sirmaur) were present during the event.
Additionally, representatives from the various regional industries and MSME units were benefitted from the discussion during the event.
